When the lighthouse on Abu Kizan (its Arabic name) was built in 1863, no one could have imagined what lay beneath the surface of this hotspot. The reef gained its fame due to its large population of hammerhead sharks. The good news: both groups are resident and therefore always present at the reef. The bad news: they aren't always visible, as they patrol depths inaccessible to recreational divers. Daedalus is the reef of unlimited possibilities – anything that's anyone in the Red Sea can pass by. Sightings of thresher sharks are no longer uncommon. Along with the Brothers Islands and a few dive sites in the Philippines, Daedalus is a guarantee for seeing these beauties with their distinctive tail fins. The gentle giants also love this spot. Several manta ray sightings and encounters with whale sharks help secure this spot as a top-class position worldwide. The dive site, however, demands a certain level of diving skill. Strong, constantly changing currents are the norm and precisely why they are so popular with marine life. Knowing how to deploy a surface marker buoy is absolutely essential here. The descent into the open water without seeing a reef can also cause some divers a queasy feeling in their stomach. This is quickly forgotten, however, when the first scalloped hammerhead shark is spotted, and the diver has to clear their mask for the first time because water has entered due to its big grin. Things are more relaxed on the southern plateau. From 20 meters down, A gently sloping plateau dotted with numerous ergs. Groupers, moray eels, and Napoleon wrasse abound on the plateau. Turtles also frequent the many soft corals. Depending on the season, oceanic whitetip sharks and silky sharks gather beneath the safari boats.

Fury Shoals is a popular Red Sea diving area offering a mix of stunning coral gardens, lagoons, and playful dolphin encounters. The site features impressive hard coral structures, diverse marine life, and calm conditions ideal for relaxed, scenic dives. Its beautiful underwater landscapes make it a favorite for both beginners and experienced divers.

St. Johns is a remote and pristine reef system in the southern Red Sea, known for its dramatic coral formations, maze-like swim-throughs, and excellent visibility. Divers can expect vibrant soft corals, abundant reef fish, and frequent encounters with turtles, rays, and the occasional shark. Its isolated location offers peaceful, uncrowded dives perfect for all experience levels. The exact route and dive sites are weather dependent and may deviate from the planned route.
